Being an American Women of Service national titleholder is a year full of service, opportunity and experiences. Taking on the role of brand ambassador for a growing national pageant organization takes time, effort and dedication. Putting in the effort yields a year that will be filled with memories and experiences that will not soon be forgotten.
Here's a recap of what the national royalty as a whole were up to this year:

While attending the event, our national titleholders help to crown the new 2018 Maine AWOS titleholders and received official Presidential Service Awards. Following the events of the weekend the national AWOS titleholders took part in a photo shoot with Jessica Tardiff Photography, as a part of their national prize package.

In October, National Bullying Prevention Month, our titleholders worked to promote our national platform Unite Against Bullying through The Crown CARES (Creating A Respectful Environment in Society/Schools), making social media posts and appearances in their communities.
In November the AWOS national titleholders came together to pack stockings for orphans in India. The stockings included some basic necessities such as soap, wash cloths, toothbrushes, toothpaste and a t-shirt. We also were sure to pack in a little fun with play-doh and jump ropes. We were so honored to partner with HUGS Inc. and bring joy to some special young people across the globe.
In January our national titleholders were invited on a post-holiday girls weekend, returning to Boston, MA where their journeys began. The titleholders had the opportunity to deliver our Queens Who CARE collections of teddy bears and uplifting cards to the Boston Children's Hospital. We had a great dinner and relaxing sleepover at our 2017 host hotel.

March was a very exciting month for our 2017 national royalty, as they had the opportunity to redeem their largest prize from their national prize package, a 7-night cruise vacation from New York City to the Bahamas. Our cruise week was filled with unforgettable memories and bonding that will last a lifetime. It was a true Girl-cation. Fun, sun and memories!!

Our national titleholders have spent countless hours this year working their personal platforms, establishing 501c-3 non-profits of their own, impacting their communities on a local, national and even international level. They have all worked their full time jobs, taken care of their families, and have made us proud in all of their endeavors as American Women of Service royalty.
With just a few short months left of their reigns, our 2017 AWOS national royalty will continue their efforts to impact the world around them for the better, one step at a time, empowering women through civic and community service.
